Passkey switch for 2 keys. Features of lighting control from three places. Double switches with sockets

Antipyretics for children are prescribed by a pediatrician. But there are situations of emergency care for fever, when the child needs to give the medicine immediately. Then the parents take responsibility and apply antipyretic drugs. What is allowed to give to infants? How can you bring down the temperature in older children? Which medications are the safest?

Kind time of the day dear readers of our blog. The topic of this post will be a double-pass switch connection scheme, the implementation of which we will do ourselves.

There is nothing superfluous in this device, roughly speaking, two simple pass-through switches are combined into one.

Such a switch has the right to life and not often, but it is applied if it becomes necessary to connect two different lighting lines from different directions.

For this scheme of connecting the luminaires, two two-key pass-through switches or one double-pass and two pass-through single switches are required. Naturally, for each connection scheme you need a certain wiring. Let's look at both options. Let's start with two switches of two keys.

Suppose you are repairing and you need to switch on two different lighting lines from two different points, using two two-key pass-through switches. Now, knowing that we need to start electrical work.

We retreat from the clean floor 90 centimeters and drill, using a crown hole under the podrozetnik, then draw the center line from the finished hole to the ceiling.

Stepping back from the ceiling 20 centimeters on the line, make a mark and drill, using a crown, the hole under the switch / box, then make a marking for the second switch and drill a hole in the floor of the junior pad.

Now from the holes under the capsule to the hole under the ceiling we cut the strobes, we also cut the shrottles to future lamps and for the supply wire.

In the finished holes, we put the boxes, under the switches with a diameter of 60 mm, under the disconnector / box with a diameter of 80 mm and in the strobes we lay the wires. We will use a three-wire cable brand ВВГнг. For the power supply we use a cable 3 * 1.5 mm, for each lighting line we also lay the cable 3 * 1.5 mm, but for each switch we extend two cables 3 * 1.5 mm.

Now let's connect all this.

Each of the cable wires has its own color, brown, blue and yellow. Let's start with the connection of switches (switches), in each of which there are six contacts, two mobile (central) and four fixed.

We connect the first switch, we clean the brown wire from the first cable, and connect it to the middle (movable) contact No. 1, clean the blue wire and connect it to the contact No. 2, strip out the yellow wire and connect it to the No. 3 terminal.

Now we connect the wires of the second cable. We clean the brown wire and connect it to the contact No. 4, the brushed blue wire is connected to the contact No. 5 and the remaining yellow is cleaned and connected to the contact No. 6, we install and fix the switch into the junior pad.

We proceed to the connection of the second switch and perform exactly the same manipulations as with the first. Now make the connection of the wires in the junction box. In the box there will be a large number of wires, but without panic, after connecting you make sure that not everything is as complicated as it seems at first glance.

We clean out the brown supply wire and two brown wires from the two cables coming from the first switch and twist together. Then we clean the blue wires coming from both switches from contacts No. 2, twist.

Next, clean the yellow wires of the cables from both switches from pins # 3, twist. Now we clean out the blue wires coming from contacts # 5 and twist. Then we clean the yellow wires coming from contacts # 6 of the switches, twist.

Next, clean the blue wire of the supply cable and the blue wires of the two cables going to the fixtures, twist. We clean the yellow wire of the supply cable and the yellow wires of the cables going to the fixtures, twist.

Now it remains for small. We clean the brown wire from the cable coming from the contact No. 1 of the second switch and the brown wire from the cable going to the first lamp is twisted. Now we clean the brown wire from the cable coming from the contact No. 4 of the second switch and the brown wire from the cable going to the second lamp and twist.

Next, we get the obtained twists, isolate them, put the wires in a box and close the lid. If you are interested, in what way you can still connect the wires in more detail. If the fixtures are connected, you can power up and check the operation of the entire system.

This connection is complicated, so it is advisable to check its operability during the installation works, what would then not open the box and make corrections.

It may be necessary to include two different lighting lines in different rooms, using a two-key pass-through switch, for example in the hallway, and turn off this light directly in each of the rooms. For this purpose, a two-key pass-through switch and two pass-through ones are used.

Practically, the wiring diagram is identical to the one shown above, the only change is, as it were, we separate the first two-key pass-through into two single ones and carry them from one point to two different ones.

Of junction box   we will send two cables to the two-way pass, we will send one cable to each lighting line, one cable will be feeding, and one cable will be sent to each one-key through-switch.

If you want to include one lighting line from three points, then a slightly different connection scheme and a different type of switches are used, in more detail. That's it, that's all, you good connection!

Sincerely, Alexander & Igor!

The inclusion of such a circuit-breaker in the electrical / circuit creates additional convenience for controlling lighting in private houses or large-sized premises, for example, warehouse, production and so on. Although for apartment owners these devices are of interest. As an option - installation in the bedroom, which will turn off the light from another "point", located near the bed.

But, as a rule, we mainly mean products with one key. This is the simplest option. We'll figure out what the loop switch is for 2 keys, what is its peculiarity and how to properly connect the device.

Passkey switches for 2 keys are available in several modifications. Further - an emphasis on the most common version of the product, working according to the scheme "2 inputs / 4 outputs". This is nothing more than a combined version of the two single-key switches   through type. It should be noted that similar devices, regardless of modification, work only in pairs. The installation of only one product in an electrical circuit is completely meaningless.

Principle of the circuit-breaker

Without basic knowledge of the device through-switch   on two keys it is unlikely to be possible to understand by what scheme and how to connect it independently. The more accurate name of this device, based on the features of the functioning, is the switch, since at the moment of pressing the button, the contact group is transferred, and the circuit from the position "closed" ("open") is translated to the opposite.

The study of the principle of work is advisable to begin with a single-key analog. The diagram of its connection is shown in the figure.

It shows that the phase wire is fed only to one device (No. 1). Between the other (No. 2) and the chain zero, the lighting device is switched on. Both passages are connected by conductors. Switching contacts can control lighting. The light bulb will light when their position in each of the items is the same. This corresponds to the closure of the circuit. The lighter will go out, provided that in one of the devices the position of the key and, accordingly, of the contact group changes.

Features of two-key instruments

Two phase conductors are suitable for device No. 1. Accordingly, and the keys - two.

Intermediate wires connecting the switches, not 2, but 4.

This is called "2 inputs / 4 outputs." The 2-gang push-button type switch, if you look at its circuit, resembles a conventional relay having 2 pairs of contacts, only with manual switching. The device is designed to control the operation of 2 different luminaires (or groups of instruments consisting of parallel-connected samples).

Procedure for connecting the loop-through switch to 2 keys

  1. Connection of contact groups of devices among themselves.
  2. Joining lighting devices.
  3. Connecting to them zero wire   and lines from the feedthrough.
  4. Verify the correct assembly of the circuit.
  5. Connecting the phase conductor. With any electrical / installation work, "power" (power) is fed into the circuit at the last turn !!!

Connection diagrams

The design of devices from different manufacturers may be slightly different. Therefore, further - only the general order of inclusion in the chain. Before proceeding with the installation of the purchased loop-through switch, it is necessary to carefully study its scheme, which is always provided in the accompanying documentation for any electrical / technical device.

Variants of schemes by a way of management

Produced from two points

The scheme is the simplest.   To avoid confusion with the wires, it is better to use a cable with veins in a colored braid. How many should there be? At the inputs - 2, from the outputs - 4, and necessarily a couple of spare. Total - not less than 8 conductors. If grounding is provided, then plus 2 pieces. In the case of breaking any of the lines, it is much easier to make 2 switches than to replace cables (wires).

When operating in two directions, the scheme looks like this:

Of the three points

This inclusion is somewhat more complicated   and is used much less often. For example, on stairs with several spans (for "sectional" lighting off). Or in halls with more than two doors. In rooms, when one pass is placed at the door, and lighting control is necessary from two other points. In such cases, the cross switch is also required. It is not mounted separately - only in conjunction with the passageways.

It turns out that there is nothing complicated in connecting a pass-through device with 2 keys. It is only necessary to correctly determine where the phase and the zero in the distribution / box (using the indicator).

On a note:

  • When installing devices it is necessary to connect only their same type contacts (from the same pairs). Confusion will lead to the fact that the circuit will not work!
  • Unlike conventional switches, the passageways do not have fixed "on" and "off" positions. Control of lighting is done only by transferring the corresponding key to another position. Therefore, for the first time, it may be necessary to get used to such devices.
  • In most apartment buildings   there is no third wire (ground) in the electrical wiring. But where it is laid, it is impossible to forget about it when connecting the door switches and lighting devices.
  • When using single-colored conductors, their ends should be marked. This will greatly simplify their connection in place.

And the last. If the cable (cable) has just been bought in the store, this does not automatically mean that it does not have any defects. External damage is easy to see, but with the internal is not so simple. And there are cliffs - due to inaccurate winding of the cable on the reel (drum) in the production, in the process of transportation, loading / unloading.

Conclusion - before laying the cable (wire) in the wall (under the plinth), it must be checked for an open circuit. What is a "chime" line with the help of a simple multimeter, there is no sense to explain. Those who do not know this will not be engaged in self-assembly.

Success in the "automation" of home lighting!

If you have long corridors, staircases or large rooms, then it will be convenient for them to use passage switches. Such devices allow you to turn on and off lights from two places - it is very convenient for large rooms. In this article, we will look at several schemesconnection of the through switches, let us analyze the principle of their work and study the main types of devices.

Switch type is rarely used. This is because many electricians and users simply did not hear about them.

Classic Feedthrough Switch

These devices are indispensable in the following places:

  1. On the stairs in apartments and houses. For example, you climb from the first floor to the second and you need to light the stairs. You turn on the light on the first floor, climb the second floor and turn it off.
  2. In the long corridors. At the entrance you turn on the light, at the output - turn it off.Principle of the circuit breaker allows them to be used to control multiple lighting lines.
  3. In the bedrooms. One switch is located at the entrance to the room, the second - near the bed.
  4. In large shops, commercial premises, warehouses, etc. It allows you to effectively manage lighting from several points.

Connecting devices

There are several schemes for connecting these devices, different types of switches and wiring. We will analyze the most popular of them.

Management of two places

Classical scheme for connecting a 2-point loop-through switch   means the use of specialized switches for pass-through networks with one button. They have one input contact and two outputs. The connection scheme is as follows: zero is sent from the box to the lamp. The phase leaves the box at the single input of switch A. An additional cable is connected to the output contacts, which goes to the output contacts of switch B. From B, through the single "input" contact, the phase goes to the lamp.

Principle of operation andcircuit breaker device   very simple. The first switch always has a contact closed.   The second you either open the chain, or connect it. Passing through the corridor, you open the circuit first, which leads to the disconnection of the fixture. On the way back, you turn on the phase one and open it the second. This scheme is ideal if you need to include one luminaire or several located on a common cable.

Classic connection scheme for two devices

Control of two seats by several lamps

This scheme is a bit more complicated and requires more work. Suitable for large rooms in which several lighting lines work. Thiswill require the presence of dual devices (they have two input and four output contacts). Let's analyze the classical principle of connection based on two lines of lighting or a chandelier with two modes of operation.

To create a similar network, you need to connect the outputs of the first switch to the outputs of the second one in series. They must disconnect the phase so that you do not get electrocuted while mounting. Zero out of the box goes to two lines of lighting. The phase from the box goes to the input of switch A. Then they are switched from B via cable connections (the outputs are connected as described above). Then the phase leaves B on the line.

The principle of the system is the same as for a one-button connection, just use two lines. Mentally imagine that you have two separate switches and everything will become clear.

Management of three seats

This is already a rather complex system, which will require the installer brainwashing efforts and skills. So,how to connect a through switch (wiring diagram) for three sources? Consider the simplest option, although there are more complex ones. To create, you need two gates with one button (1 input, 2 outputs) and one cross (two inputs, two outputs).

  Connection scheme for various variations

Zero, as usual, is fed to the fixtures from the box. The phase from it goes to the input to A and goes through two outputs to two inputs cross switch. Then it leaves through two contacts for two outputs in B and through the input A is fed to the lamps. In principle, there is nothing complicated in this, but the main thing is to lay the wires correctly. Usually, the connection is made through the box, and not through the walls, so as not to damage the cable during subsequent repairs (from the box a separate output is made to A, B, C, they do not connect to each other via a horizontal cable). Although this connection is allowed, but it is undesirable to use it.

Using a double cross switch and double pass-through it is possible to complicate the process by controlling two groups of fixtures from three locations, but such schemes are infrequent. These systems can be complicated indefinitely by adding new two-key orone-key through-gates.

Attention:the switch always has to open the phase, it comes to the lower lobe of the cartridge, and not to the side. This will avoid electric shock when replacing the lamp.

Another tip - try to make separate lighting lines for each room or two rooms. This will help you avoid de-energizing the entire system when repairing or replacing items. For example, you need to change the outlet in the bedroom. You disconnect it from the shield, while in the hall and in the kitchen you have lighting.

Types of switches

To create a circuit for connecting a change-over switch   you may need the following devices:

  1. Classic one-button switch. Has 1 input and 2 outputs.
  2. Two-button. Has 2 inputs and 4 outputs. Allows you to control two lines.
  3. Three-button. Allows you to control three lines, has three inputs and six outputs.
  4. Cross. It has one button, two inputs and two outputs.

Four-button devices are almost not used due to the complexity of the control. But despite this, they are sometimes connected.

Classic connection of a single switch

Installation of systems

To build a system correctlymarch switch, you need to make a diagram of its connection and think over the location of all the cables. Then you can start working by purchasing the right equipment. For laying, you need a grinder with a diamond disc, with which you will cut the guides under the shtroby, punch for knocking out plaster and creating channels, as well as the level for marking and controlling verticals-contours. Try to do everything neatly, you do not need to stretch the wires diagonally, create hinges and joints in the walls. All spikes must be placed in boxes, only whole cables are put in the walls.

For household lighting systems is quite enough copper cable   for 1.5 squares. Operation oninstallation of a through switch as follows:

  1. Cables are laid in the carved stitches.
  2. Switches are installed.
  3. Cables are built into the shield, but do not connect.
  4. Cables are connected to switches, lamps.
  5. There is a connection of cables in the boxes, the entire system is assembled.
  6. The wires are connected to the switchboard via 16-amp automatons.
  7. The system is tested.
  8. Decorative elements, off buttons are installed.

Attention:circuit breaker installation it will not be difficult if you design the system correctly. Just in advance, think through all the subtleties and draw a diagram on paper, so as not to get confused during the installation.

When designing lighting, you need to know about the basic circuitry of connecting switches. The circuit of connection of the switch directly depends on those tasks that are facing a certain switch, i.e. control of a particular lamp or group of fixtures.

1 Wiring diagram for one-button switch:

The simplest single luminaire is connected according to this scheme. The breaker contact switches the phase. Most of the fixtures in our homes and offices are connected in this way.

The light switch must always tear the phase conductor!

This scheme is used to switch (switch off) lamps in large rooms or single multi-lamp lamps. All lamps or lamps are divided into two groups. Each key serves to control a separate group.

The application of this circuit is similar to a two-key switch. All luminaires are divided into three groups.

In long rooms with two exits, i.e. in passage rooms it is advisable to install pass-through switches - switches for control from two places. These switches have a special contact group and one key. Recently, such people used in the corridor during the reconstruction of a private house.

Apparently, such a scheme should be used for long corridors. At the beginning and at the end of the room, near the exits, there are installed ordinary single-key pass-through switches with circuit 6, and in the middle of the corridor - a two-button switch with a circuit (6 + 6). The scheme works like this: went into the room - turned on the light only the first half of the fixtures, reached the middle - one button turned on the second half of the fixtures, the first half of the lamps switched off the second switch key, reached the end of the corridor - switched off the second part of the fixtures.

The difference from the previous scheme is that a single-key switch with a 6/2 circuit is used in the center. Here, when you press this switch, some lights are turned off, and the second ones turn on.

7 Control scheme of a luminaire or a group of fixtures from four locations using switches with circuits 6 and 6/2:

The control scheme of a luminaire or a group of fixtures from four places by means of switches with circuits 6 and 6/2

This scheme I use in branched corridors with three or four outputs. On the cutouts are installed switches with the scheme 6, and in the center - with the scheme 6/2.

It should be noted that these schemes do not depict a protective earth conductor - PE, which should be mandatory, although in household chandeliers, often, it has nowhere to connect. Well, about the distribution (terminal) boxes you need to remember.

Conclusion:   the most common circuit breaker circuits:

  • one-button switch;
  • a two-button switch;
  • three-key switch;
  • pass one-key switch with circuit 6;
  • pass one-key switch with a 6/2 circuit.
  • a two-key passing switch with a circuit (6-6);

3 lighting control options (6 luminaires) with the help of two-key switch:

Many people are interested in the connection of a two-key through-switch on their own, without calling electricians. It is not so difficult to do this, especially having detailed connection schemes and a detailed description of each step.

A switch that is designed to control separate light sources is called a two-key switch. These sources include various wiring of soffit, as well as chandeliers with separate controls. Usually, schemes with active use in apartments and offices, where it is necessary to control two lines of lighting. In the corridors, bathrooms and walk-through rooms there is no need for this, so there is used the most common single-key pass-through switch.

On such switches there are special arrows that are needed to indicate the on / off position.

If the wiring is made in such a way that there are several equivalent control points in the room, then the position "Enabled" or "Off" can not be uniquely determined.

This is the main difference between such systems and conventional single-key ones from the user's point of view.

From a technical point of view, such a switch is two one-key ones that have a common housing and function according to the principle of "throwing" contacts. In all two-key control systems 6 contacts are used: 2 are input, and 4 - output.

Scheme of connection of a two-key passage switch

In solving the issue of connecting two-key pass-through switches, it is most useful to first understand the intricacies of installing two one-key switches.

How to connect two one-key feedthrough switches

To understand the operation mechanism of a more complex system, you must first understand its basic element.

The above circuit includes such elements as a distribution box, a pair of single-key pass-through switches, any luminaire and wires. This kind of scheme for switching on the two-key pass-through switch is used to provide the ability to control light from two places.

As can be seen in the figure, the "earth" passes directly from the light bulb. The phase of the network is connected to the common terminal of the first switch. The two output contacts of this switch are connected to the same elements of the second one. It is logically clear that from the second switch the wire goes back to the box and already from there the voltage goes to the lamp.

Installation in practice is quite simple: first, the switches are placed in their boxes.

A junction box is placed on the prepared installation place, where contacts are connected from both the switch and the lamps, as well as the "ground".

Switching on of lighting from two places - control circuit

But now you can talk about a more complex system. Here is the circuit for connecting a pass-through switch with 2 places:

You probably already guessed that such a scheme is nothing more than a double circuit for connecting a one-button switch for controlling two places. In fact, each key is an independent switch. Everything is simple here, so there is no point in particularly spreading. Much more interesting is the situation with the connection of at least three two-key pass-through switches.

Preliminary calculation of the expected power for domestic needs helps to make correct and safe installation of electrical wiring. When the final choice of the required cross-section is taken into account, the consumed energy groups and the value overcurrent   for each segment.

Improving the reliability of power supply to consumers helps to properly connect the wires in the switchbox. you can read about different methods of connecting the cable, both homogeneous and from different metals, in the distribution box.

There may be several difficulties that can be easily established from the above schemes:

  • the middle switch has more wires and a completely different circuitry;
  • the design of such a switch is somewhat different from the extreme one.

It is clear that both these factors do not facilitate the simplification of the scheme, but, on the contrary, create a huge number of wires.

This is the key drawback: more wires - more materials, more materials - more work - more costs.

Despite the unpopularity of this scheme, it is still worth considering.

Features of lighting control from three places

Because of the low popularity of such a scheme, it is difficult to find cross-connect two-key pass-through switches, which occupy the middle position in the circuit. Usually such a problem is solved by installing an additional pair of single-key switches in one frame. The diagram of this is shown in the figure:

As you can see, this scheme is characterized by the presence of one more parallel circuit   one-key feedthrough switch. Thus, for management of three places, two combined schemes for controlling from two places are used.

Installation of double-switch circuit breakers

We have already discussed the installation of single-key circuits. For dvuklavishnyh everything is somewhat different: there is no junction box, so the mechanism will be as follows:

  • first, switches are installed in special boxes, the conclusions of which are left sufficiently long;
  • after this, lamps are installed, the contacts of which must also be long;
  • connection is made in accordance with the scheme.

As you can see, there are no complicated details in the installation of two and three-way two-key switches. Everything is simple enough, and having at hand the scheme and mechanism of installation with work even an unprofessional electrician can cope.
