Antipyretics for children are prescribed by a pediatrician. But there are emergency situations with fever when the child needs to be given medicine immediately. Then the parents take responsibility and use antipyretic drugs. What is allowed to be given to infants? How can you lower the temperature in older children? What medications are the safest?

Wonderful taste, original design, a lot of benefits - what else is important for a real cook?

The best way to excite people is to serve a cake at the snack table and not say that it is made from liver. Imagine the amazement of your guests when they take a closer look and realize that the red flowers on the “dessert” are made from cherry tomatoes, the pretty white specks that so wonderfully enliven the overall design are from mayonnaise, and the leaves on the sides are not creamy at all, but even real and very parsley! In my opinion, this aspect alone is worth spending a little time making a nice, delicious, colorful liver cake for tonight's dinner.

There are a lot of recipes. How not to drown in them, finding “yours” and choosing the best one? There is only one recommendation – try and experiment. Through trial and error, you will probably find one that suits you in all respects. I can only help with one thing - to tell you about those recipes for liver cakes that I prepared myself, tried and tasted, and was satisfied with the result.

To prepare liver cake, it is best to use beef (veal) or chicken liver. Pork, alas, is mercilessly bitter, which is felt especially clearly in the cake. If you have unlimited access to goose (ah!) or duck (mmmm!...) liver, feel free to take them. A very worthy cake is also made from turkey liver.

  • 0.5 liters of milk;
  • 5 eggs;
  • 2 onions;
  • 1 cup flour;
  • salt, pepper, vegetable oil for frying.

Ingredients for the “cream”:

  • 3 small onions;
  • 100 g mayonnaise;
  • vegetable oil;

HOW TO COOK

We wash the liver for the cake well, remove films and other ugliness. Let the water drain, then cut into pieces.
Peel the onion, set 3 heads aside, cut 2 into 4 parts and add to the bowl with the liver. Pass it through a meat grinder.

Beat the eggs into the liver-onion mixture, add salt and pepper, stir, pour in the milk and gradually add the flour, thoroughly stirring any lumps.
The consistency of the batter should be slightly thicker than regular pancake batter. Be sure to give it a little “rest” - when the gluten dissolves, frying such pancakes will be much easier, they will become stronger and more elastic.

Grease a well-heated frying pan with oil and fry the pancakes on both sides until lightly golden. Leave to cool.

Meanwhile, make the filling - cut the remaining onion into half rings and fry it in vegetable oil until golden.

Collect the cake: liver pancake, a little mayonnaise, part of the onion, again pancake, mayonnaise, onion - and so on until the pancakes run out.
Coat the top layer with mayonnaise and decorate with grated boiled egg. Before serving, the cake should soak for 3-4 hours, then you can treat your guests!

Liver cake with buckwheat flour

If you cook liver in, say, the usual fried form, what do you serve it with? In my family, they prefer buckwheat as a side dish - it seems to me that this grain is simply created to perform on the same stage with liver, it emphasizes its taste and reveals its undertones, balances the light bitter-tart taste and simply gives a feeling of deliciousness, lightness, satiety.

  • 2 tbsp. l. starch;

Liver cake in a slow cooker

In the age of insane speeds and the desire to reduce the time devoted to solving everyday issues, more and more people are switching to cooking in a slow cooker. In my opinion, a liver cake baked this way loses in taste - it is more boring, restrained, and neutral. However, at the same time, it should be noted that the amount of oil compared to the version in a frying pan is significantly small. In addition, baked is always healthier than fried, so as an alternative, such a cake has a right to exist.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 500 g liver;
  • 3 eggs;
  • 2 onions;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 1 glass of sour cream;
  • 1/3 cup flour;
  • vegetable oil;
  • 50 g mayonnaise;
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic;
  • 2 boiled eggs.

How to cook liver cake in a slow cooker

Cut the onion into cubes and fry in a slow cooker on the “Baking” mode.
Grate the carrots on a fine grater and fry them too.

Wash the liver, dry it and cut it into pieces. Place in a bowl, add onions and carrots, puree the mixture with a blender or pass through a meat grinder. Add eggs, salt and pepper, flour and knead a not very thick dough.

Grease the multicooker cup with oil, pour in the dough and close the lid. Cook on the “Baking” mode for 60 minutes.

Remove the finished cake from the multicooker and, after cooling completely, cut it into 2-3 cake layers.
Mix crushed garlic with mayonnaise and spread on the cake. We also grease the top and sides with “cream” and sprinkle with grated egg. Serve 2-3 hours after the cake is soaked.

Liver roll

Yes, this is not a cake, but a roll, but it is cooked in the oven and looks stunning on the plate. It will take a little less time to create it, and the result will be no worse.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 500 g liver;
  • 100 ml kefir;
  • 1 tsp. baking powder;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 1 cup flour;
  • 2 onions;
  • salt pepper;
  • 150 g hard cheese;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • a few sprigs of parsley.

PREPARING THE ROLL

Wash the liver, dry it, remove the films and grind it together with the onion in a blender. Add eggs, kefir, salt, pepper and baking powder, stir in flour and grind until smooth. Pour the dough onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 15 minutes.

While the roll is baking, grate the cheese on a fine grater and mix it with finely chopped parsley and squeezed garlic.

Remove the crust from the oven and sprinkle evenly with cheese and herbs. Immediately roll it up, separating it from the paper, and return it to the oven for another 3-5 minutes. Slice when cooled.

A reason to fantasize

The listed recipes for liver cake are not a complete list of how you can diversify a fairly ordinary dish. You can safely add to the filling:
— fried carrots and Korean carrots;
- caramelized apples, applesauce and just diced or grated apples;
- cranberries, lingonberries and any other sour berries;
- eggplants, zucchini, tomatoes and many other vegetables that go well with liver;
- nuts and seeds;
- prunes, raisins, dried apricots.

Turning cons into advantages

Quite often you can come across comments and opinions that liver cake is terrible, decorated and served as a beautiful snack. Different opinions are needed, different opinions are important, but let's figure it out. The most common argument against it is the use of mayonnaise. No one argues that the industrial sauce is far from ideal and contains elements of Mendeleev’s periodic system that are far from useful for the body, however, who says that a liver cake must be coated with store-bought mayonnaise? Nowadays, almost everyone has a blender in their kitchen, but finding an egg, vegetable oil and a spoonful of mustard and lemon juice is not at all a problem - create, whip, get a healthy homemade product, which you can use to prepare snacks. And don’t grumble about the nasty things that are hidden in store-bought mayonnaise packages; grumbling is more harmful than eating it.

By the way, some of the mayonnaise can be replaced with low-fat sour cream - just mix them together and coat the pancakes with the resulting “cream”. The taste will remain virtually unchanged, but the fat content will decrease, and your mind will be pleased.

The second common argument from the category “Baba Yaga is against” is a rant about frying. It turns out that liver cake requires frying! Oh! This is where I run out of reasonable arguments, I immediately want to ask if a person really doesn’t eat anything fried at all? Potatoes with an appetizing crust, a golden-brown cutlet, lush pancakes with apples - everything is in the abyss, is everything wrong? When a counter-argument appears about the amount of this very fried thing in one dish, you want to sarcastically ask in response whether the person is going to eat the whole cake entirely and alone. There is no need to consume everything at once, eat one piece, accompany it with a light vegetable salad - and you will be happy.

Benefits of the liver

It's no secret that liver is a product that is not particularly popular among the bulk of the population. And in vain! It has a lot of advantages, which I propose to talk about a little.

Keratin, which is part of the liver, activates metabolic processes, helping the body eliminate nasties and dump garbage. There is no need to talk about the benefits of folic acid, which is very difficult to find in food, - it is not for nothing that it is prescribed to all pregnant women in the form of pharmacological preparations. Antioxidants are a separate matter; now all conscious people are looking for an antidote to the harmful effects of the environment, and the liver can boast of a high content of these substances. Who in childhood was not stuffed with liver “for hemoglobin”? It seems to me that I have known since the cradle that this product contains a record amount of iron, which is extremely necessary for the functioning of any human body. I won’t talk about a bouquet of vitamins and a mountain of minerals - and so everything is clear.

By the way, returning to the main topic of conversation, I will say that muttering about the high calorie content of liver cake is also quite controversial. Liver itself is a low-calorie and dietary product; 100 grams of it contain only 100 kcal; thanks to this fact, nutritionists are even developing effective liver diets.

So, liver is tasty, healthy and cheap, so I advise you no longer to hesitate and rush to the kitchen - cook, rejoice and love the world around you: as soon as you learn to do this sincerely, it will love you too, you'll see!

Decoration and presentation

Like any pancake cake, liver cake can claim the right to be served in an unusual and interesting way. Grated cheese, carving and vegetable applications, a sea of various greens and herbs, olives, green peas, pomegranate seeds - show a little imagination, and the cake will sparkle with incredible colors! When baking “cakes”, make them all of different diameters - from the largest to the smallest: coated with cream, you will get a Christmas tree that can be placed on the New Year's table. Three diameters of pancake circles - and the joyful snowman is almost ready. Using heart-shaped molds, you can easily assemble a portioned snack for Valentine's Day.

By the way, portioned serving is also an excellent option for those who, for some reason, are not “friendly” with pancakes. It is much easier to fry pancakes - by using restrictive rings for omelettes, you can get small pancakes of the same size, which you can fold into neat liver... cakes. Don't be boring and monotonous, create and decorate the world, making it brighter, more interesting, more fun!

Liver cake - basic cooking principles

Many housewives do not dare to cook liver cake, believing that it is long and troublesome. Yes, you will have to tinker, but in reality everything is not as scary as it seems.

Cake pancakes are made from chicken, beef or pork liver. It is better, of course, to use chicken offal, since poultry liver cooks faster and has a delicate taste. The liver is washed, all excess is removed and passed through a meat grinder. Eggs, sour cream and flour are placed in the resulting dough base. To prevent the pancakes from turning out rubbery, add eggs at the rate of one per 200 g of offal.

Pancakes are baked from the dough, being careful not to make them too thick.

When all the pancakes are ready, start preparing the filling. To do this, peel the onion and finely chop it. Peeled carrots are passed through the large holes of a grater. Then the vegetables are fried until soft and cooled.

Mayonnaise or sour cream is used for the sauce. Garlic is squeezed into it through a press and mixed.

Then place the pancake on a flat dish, grease it with mayonnaise-garlic sauce and lay out the vegetable filling. Cover with the next pancake and repeat layers. This is how the cake is assembled until the pancakes and filling are gone.

You can use vegetables, eggs or corn for decoration.

You can use fresh tomato slices or green onions in the layer.

Have you decided to go for liver cake? Especially for you, in detail how to prepare a liver cake according to all the rules. Of course, the liver cake looks like only a professional chef could make it. But in reality, everything is simpler than it seems. There is a simple way to ensure that the liver pancakes that make up the cake do not fall apart, are not hard, do not burn or become bitter. We will give you the ideal proportions of ingredients for the cake. We'll tell you how much mayonnaise is needed for soaking. And it’s not at all necessary to start building a tall structure of 10-12 layers. First, prepare a liver cake, such as in the photo. Isn't he cute? And you only need to fry five pancakes for him. Any skill can be mastered with experience. The simpler the initial task, the more impressive the end result will be. So, let's get down to business!

Ingredients:

for 3 cakes (or 1 tall):

  • pork (or beef) liver – 700g;
  • milk – 100 ml;
  • chicken egg – 2 pcs.;
  • wheat flour – 150g;
  • sunflower oil – 20 ml;
  • salt - to taste;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • carrots – 1 pc.;
  • mayonnaise – 2 packs;
  • garlic – optional (about 5 cloves needed);
  • greens - for decoration.

Method for making liver cake

First, let's look at the typical mistakes of those who fail to make liver cake:

  1. incorrect proportions of ingredients (for example, not enough flour - pancakes crumble),
  2. there is not enough oil in the dough - the pancakes burn,
  3. the heat is too high - the pancakes are not cooked through,
  4. not enough mayonnaise - the cake is not soaked enough,
  5. too much garlic - the dish will be bitter.

And now in detail about how to prepare a liver cake so that it turns out tasty, beautiful, and “correct.”

First you need to deal with the liver. This is a very fancy product that must be purchased fresh. I do not recommend taking frozen liver, because after defrosting its taste is lost. Both pork and beef liver are suitable for making liver cake. There is no fundamental difference, the only thing is the cost (beef is 2 times more expensive).

Soak the liver in water or milk for several hours, and then pass it together with one peeled onion through a meat grinder or grind these products using a food processor.

Beat the eggs there.

Pour in milk. Beat everything well until smooth. The dough for the liver cake should turn out approximately like thick sour cream, without lumps. Add flour or milk if necessary.

Pour sunflower oil directly into the dough and stir.

Now you can fry the “cakes”. Heat the frying pan, switch the heat to low. Next, pour the dough into a ladle and spread it in a thin layer over the entire bottom. You need to fry the liver pancake on both sides, but always on low heat so that the inside of the pancake can cook well.

The dough should yield approximately 15 pancakes, which is enough for 3 low cakes (5 pancakes each). By the way, if you want, you can make a tall liver cake from the entire amount of pancakes. While the liver cake layers are cooling, grate the carrots and fry them lightly in a frying pan, then cool. Lubricate each pancake with mayonnaise, then lay out the carrots (2-3 teaspoons are enough), cover with the next pancake and repeat this several times.

We also grease the top of the cake with mayonnaise and decorate with herbs or grated boiled egg. We leave the cake in the refrigerator for several hours so that it is well soaked. Before serving, do not forget to cut the liver cake into portions.

Bon appetit!

Chicken liver cake

First, let's find out how to make a delicious and tender chicken liver cake. There are some nuances that must be taken into account when preparing the dish in question:

  • The first thing I would like to note is that such an ingredient as chicken liver is not capricious: there is no bitterness, it cooks very quickly, so working with such a component for a cake is very simple. It cannot be cooked raw, so even beginners can handle this ingredient.
  • If we talk about the exact proportions, then everything is also simple: for 400 g of chicken liver you will need 2 chicken eggs (other eggs should not be used in this matter), two tablespoons of medium-fat sour cream, and the same amount of flour. Using the specified amount of ingredients in the preparation of pancakes for the cake, a guarantee of tender and unbreakable cakes.

  • The thickness of liver pancakes does not differ from the thickness of ordinary pancakes made with milk, so there are no special differences in frying.
  • In order for liver pancakes to turn over easily, you need to make them with a small diameter, about 20 centimeters.
  • Before you start frying pancakes, you need to heat the frying pan very well and pour enough oil onto it so that the pancakes do not stick to the pan and do not burn.
  • You can grease the pan with oil every 4-5 pancakes.

So, Liver liver cake step by step recipe. To prepare it we will need the following ingredients:

  • chicken liver (half a kilo)
  • eggs: raw for cooking, boiled for decorating our masterpiece

  • carrots – used both for cooking and decorating the cake
  • mayonnaise and sour cream – medium fat content
  • vegetable oil, flour
  • garlic and salt

Let's start with the step-by-step preparation:

  1. The first step is to flush the liver. Despite the fact that many neglect this rule and simply start cutting it, it is recommended to wash it well, and if there is film or other unnecessary “elements”, remove them from the surface of the liver. Sometimes, there are small pieces of bubble on the liver, and if they are not removed, the cake may be spoiled by a slight bitterness, so keep that in mind.
  2. Chop the liver quite finely, then add eggs to it (raw, of course). For the specified amount of liver, three to four eggs will be enough. The container for preparing the “dough” for pancakes should be large so that it is convenient to mix all the ingredients.
  3. Add sour cream to the existing ingredients in the bowl, then flour.
  4. Mix everything thoroughly, preferably using a blender, to obtain a homogeneous and thick mass. Salt the resulting substance.

  1. Let's start frying pancakes. They fry very quickly, so this process does not take much time.
  2. If you are not new to this business, then while the pancakes are frying, you can proceed to the next stage, performing it in parallel with frying.
  3. Finely chop the onion and also chop the carrots (you can grate them on a fine grater).
  4. We fry the “frying” in a frying pan, after which the resulting amount of fried ingredients must be divided by the number of liver pancakes obtained.
  5. Prepare mayonnaise-garlic sauce.
  6. We put the liver pancakes on a dish, and each one, one by one, spread with mayonnaise sauce, then pour the frying onto the crust. Repeat this with each liver pancake.
  7. We decorate the last pancake with yolk on top.
  8. We coat the entire cake with mayonnaise, including the sides, and decorate them with egg white. Let the cake cool, and you can start serving and eating it.

Beef liver cake

Recipes for liver cakes are very similar to each other, the only difference is what kind of liver you will use to prepare it. In this case, we take beef liver. To prepare beef liver cake we will need:

  • half a kilo of beef liver
  • one chicken egg
  • just half a glass of sour cream, preferably low-fat
  • the same amount of flour
  • pepper, salt - the amount is determined based on the taste of the “creator”
  • garlic, onion, greens
  • carrot
  1. Beef liver, unlike chicken liver, requires additional processing, which includes thorough washing and drying.
  2. After such preparation, the liver can be cut into small pieces and chopped. To do this, you can use a meat grinder or a blender.
  3. Add the following ingredients to the chopped liver, poured into a large container:
  • sour cream
  • salt pepper

The consistency of the substance should be the same as for making pancakes. Beef liver takes longer to fry than chicken liver. But at the same time, frying pancakes from the ingredient in question will be a very short process. Fry the “dough” in a frying pan on both sides, but do not fry it too much.

After the pancakes for the cake are ready, you can start preparing the filling:

  1. So, to do this, chop the onion and grate the carrots, fry these ingredients until golden brown. Chop the garlic.
  2. It is best to use garlic cloves for this and add it to mayonnaise. Lubricate each pancake with this consistency, placing the prepared fry on top.
  3. Distribute around the entire perimeter of the pancake. We do this with each layer.
  4. The top of the cake is sprinkled with herbs.
  5. The cake is ready to eat immediately after preparation. It can be served either cold or hot.
